Well, You Pay for Your Satisfaction

For those who know me, I’m a really big Billy Joel fan. Having most of his albums on CD, a good portion of his discography on vinyl, and a cassette of Piano Man, it’s safe to assume I kind of idolize the guy. And every time I look at this photo, I hear the music of Vienna, She’s Always a Woman, You’re my Home.

The withered weathered wood of the dock held together by links of rusted metal just has worn down; the gentle black waves of the water that hide all the imaginations as to what could be below its murky depth; and the endless sky with fading light as the sun sets and the clouds float well beyond the skyline. The sense of peace in a life well lived and loved. Mistakes and experiences are captured in one photo. You’ve paid for your satisfaction, now it’s time to enjoy it.
